Thanks to the generosity of our donors and the fundraising efforts of numerous volunteers, the Love McKinley organization is having an immediate impact in the community. In collaboration with Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, we have helped to initiate a program that will provide families and patients with snacks and beverages during their time in the out-patient clinic. In addition, the initial allocation of dollars from our named fund has allowed us to provide the hospital with a Vecta sensory machine, 13 iPads with portable stands, and licenses for each of these devices to be equipped with the GetWell interactive patient platform.

These additions to the outpatient clinic and other facilities of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital will provide needed resources to the staff, and ultimately the families and patients who are treated there. Our work with the hospital has also resulted in a close relationship with the Child Life Team. This team of hospital staff and volunteers provides various forms of support to the patients and their families during all phases of treatment. Our future goals include improving the resources available to this team as well.
